Open Acronis
Open Acronis cPanel & WHM.
Log in to cPanel, open Acronis cPanel & WHM, then open the Backups tab.
Acronis Restore OverviewRecovery Point
Select the backup date and time.
Choose a recovery point from before the mailbox problem occurred and wait while Acronis mounts the selected backup.
Mailboxes
Open Mailboxes and select the address.
Click Mailboxes, then select the mailbox you want to recover. Check the full email address carefully if the cPanel account contains several mailboxes.
Recover
Restore the selected mailbox.
Click Recover, review any recovery options shown, and confirm.
If the selected mailbox no longer exists on the server, Acronis can recreate it automatically during recovery.
For Maildir mailboxes, Acronis can provide a choice to keep or delete email created after the backup. Other mailbox storage formats may require the whole mailbox to be overwritten. If you are unsure, stop and contact Hostmate before confirming.
Download Instead
Download the mailbox backup when you want a copy first.
Select the mailbox and click Download. Acronis prepares a ZIP archive containing the mailbox data and places it in your cPanel home folder for download.
This is useful when you want to retain an older copy without immediately changing the live mailbox.
After Recovery
Check the mailbox in Webmail.
Once recovery completes, open Webmail and check the folders and messages you expected to recover. Use cPanel → Email Accounts → Check Email or open https://yourdomain.com.au/webmail.
