Direct Login
Open your domain followed by /webmail.
For normal direct access to Webmail, open:
https://yourdomain.com.au/webmail
Replace yourdomain.com.au with the domain used by your email account.
| Address | https://yourdomain.com.au/webmail |
|---|---|
| Username | Your full email address, for example you@yourdomain.com.au |
| Password | The password for that email account |
Do not use your Hostmate Client Area / billing login or your main cPanel username and password here. Webmail uses the full email address and that mailbox's password.
From cPanel
Open Webmail using Check Email.
If you are already logged in to cPanel, go to Email → Email Accounts.
Find the email address you want to open and click Check Email. cPanel will open the Webmail interface for that mailbox in a new browser tab.
You can first log in to cPanel through the Hostmate Client Area, then open Email Accounts → Check Email.
Password Help
Forgot the email password?
The email password is managed separately from your Hostmate account and cPanel password.
To reset it, log in to cPanel and go to Email → Email Accounts. Find the mailbox, click Manage, then set a new password for that email account.
- Hostmate Client Area — uses your Hostmate account email address and account password.
- cPanel — uses the main cPanel username and cPanel password.
- Webmail — uses the full email address and that mailbox's password.
- WordPress — has its own separate website administrator login.
If /webmail Does Not Open
Check where the domain is pointing.
The /webmail address relies on your domain reaching the Hostmate hosting server. If the domain is new, still propagating or currently points somewhere else, the direct Webmail address may not reach Hostmate yet.
In that situation, log in through the Hostmate Client Area → cPanel → Email Accounts → Check Email instead.
Inside Webmail
Read and send email in your browser.
Once logged in, Webmail gives you browser access to the mailbox without needing Outlook, Apple Mail or another email application.
Common Problems
Can't log in to Webmail?
- Wrong username — use the full email address, not just the part before the @ symbol.
- Wrong password — use the password for that specific mailbox, not your Hostmate or cPanel password.
- Domain points elsewhere — use cPanel's Check Email option instead of the direct /webmail address.
- Password recently changed — make sure your browser or password manager is not filling an old mailbox password.
Still Can't Access Email?
We can check the mailbox for you.
If the mailbox exists but you still cannot open Webmail, open a support ticket and include the affected email address.
