cPanel + Hosting Help

How to log in to cPanel.

The recommended way to open cPanel is through the Hostmate Client Area. You can also log in directly using your own domain followed by /cpanel.

Recommended

Log in through the Hostmate Client Area.

Open the Hostmate Client Area and sign in with your Hostmate account email address and password.

From your services, open the hosting service you want to manage and click Login to cPanel.

No separate cPanel password needed.

The Client Area logs you into the correct cPanel account directly.

Direct Login

Open your domain followed by /cpanel.

If you prefer to go directly to cPanel, open:

Direct cPanel address

https://yourdomain.com.au/cpanel

Replace yourdomain.com.au with your own hosted domain, then enter your main cPanel username and password.

Your cPanel login is separate from your Hostmate account login.

For this direct login, use the cPanel username and cPanel password for the hosting account. Do not use your Hostmate Client Area / billing login, an email address and mailbox password, or a WordPress login.

Password Help

Use the main cPanel login, not an email or FTP account.

The direct cPanel login requires your main cPanel username and password. An email account password, WordPress password or additional FTP account login will not work.

  • Hostmate Client Area login — your Hostmate account email address and Client Area password.
  • Direct cPanel login — your main cPanel username and cPanel password.
  • Email login — separate credentials used for an individual mailbox.
  • FTP account login — separate credentials if you created an additional FTP account.

After Login

Use cPanel to manage your hosting.

Once logged in, cPanel gives you access to the main tools for your hosting account, including files, domains, databases, email, SSL, backups and PHP settings.

Files File Manager, FTP Accounts and disk usage.
Domains Manage hosted domains, document roots and HTTPS redirects.
Email Create and manage mailboxes, forwarding and email settings.
Security + Backups SSL certificates, Imunify360 and JetBackup tools.

Common Problems

Can't log in to cPanel?

  • Wrong password — make sure you are using the main cPanel password, not the Client Area, email, WordPress or FTP password.
  • Domain not pointing to Hostmate — use the Login to cPanel button from the Hostmate Client Area instead.
  • Saved old password — your browser or password manager may be filling an outdated cPanel password.
  • Account suspended — cPanel access will not work normally if the hosting service is suspended.

If direct login is giving you trouble, try the Login to cPanel button from the Hostmate Client Area.

Still Can't Log In?

We can check the account for you.

If the Client Area login button or your direct cPanel login is not working, open a support ticket and tell us which hosting service you are trying to access.
