Get Your Email Settings
Open Connect Devices in cPanel first.
Before setting up the app, get the exact mail server settings for this mailbox from cPanel.
Go to cPanel → Email → Email Accounts, find the email address and click Connect Devices.
Under Manual Settings, use the Secure SSL/TLS settings shown for the mailbox. They give you the exact incoming and outgoing server names, ports, username and security settings to enter in your email app.
Thunderbird for Android
Add your Hostmate email account.
Open Thunderbird for Android and choose to add an email account. Enter your full Hostmate email address and mailbox password.
Thunderbird may try to configure the account automatically. If it needs manual settings, use the secure IMAP details below.
Manual Settings
Use IMAP with SSL/TLS.
| Email / Username | Your full email address, for example you@yourdomain.com.au |
|---|---|
| Password | Your email account password |
| Incoming | mail.yourdomain.com.au |
| IMAP Port | 993 with SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing | mail.yourdomain.com.au |
| SMTP Port | 465 with SSL/TLS |
| SMTP Authentication | Required — use the same full email address and password |
The settings above are a guide. The Secure SSL/TLS settings under cPanel → Email Accounts → Connect Devices are the settings to use for your mailbox.
Authentication
Use the mailbox credentials for both servers.
Use the full email address as the username for incoming and outgoing mail. Use the password for that email account and make sure SMTP authentication is enabled.
Sync
Choose your notification and folder settings.
After the account connects, choose the folders you want to sync and your preferred notification behaviour. Thunderbird for Android uses IMAP so your mail remains available in Webmail and on your other devices.
Test
Send and receive a test message.
Send a test message and reply to it from another address to confirm the account is fully working.
