Step 1
Log in to cPanel.
Open your Hostmate cPanel account and sign in with your cPanel username and password.
Step 2
Open Softaculous.
In cPanel, find Softaculous Apps Installer and open it.
Step 3
Choose WordPress and click Install.
Open WordPress in Softaculous, then select the Install option.
Step 4
Choose where WordPress will be installed.
Under Choose Installation URL, select the domain where you want WordPress installed.
Leave In Directory blank. If you enter something such as wp, WordPress will be installed at yourdomain.com.au/wp instead of directly at yourdomain.com.au.
Step 5
Create your WordPress administrator login.
Complete the WordPress administrator details on the installation form:
- Admin Username — choose the username you will use to manage WordPress.
- Admin Password — use a strong, unique password.
- Admin Email — use an email address you can access.
- Language — choose the language you want WordPress to use.
Step 6
Click Install.
Scroll to the bottom of the Softaculous installation form and click Install. Softaculous will create the WordPress files and database automatically.
When the installation finishes, Softaculous will show links to your new website and the WordPress administration area.
After Installation
Open WordPress and check the security tools.
Softaculous WordPress Manager includes a Login button that can take you directly into the WordPress administration area without entering the WordPress password again.
You can also open Security Measures in WordPress Manager to review Softaculous security hardening options for your new site.
