What Is An Addon Domain?
An additional website and/or email domain inside the same cPanel account.
“Addon domain” is cPanel terminology for an additional domain hosted alongside your primary domain.
An added domain can have its own website and website files, its own domain email addresses such as you@yourdomain.com.au, or both. It is still managed from the same cPanel account as your primary domain.
The websites and email accounts share the hosting account's overall storage and other plan resources. Website workloads also share the account's CPU, RAM and I/O allocations, while each plan has its own total email-account allowance.
This works particularly well when the websites and email comfortably fit within the resources of the plan. If one website needs its own isolated resources or significantly more capacity, a separate hosting account may be the better option.
